Folger Stable

$20,000 in proceeds from the Woodside Day of the Horse was gifted to the Folger Stable Renovation project and the endowment fund.  At a cost of 3.3 million dollars, the Renovation was completed in 2010.

 

Today, Equestrian Programs and Public Boarding are managed by the new operator Dan Byrum of Bay Area Equestrian Connection LLC. Programs include weekend and evening Trail Rides, Spring and Summer Camps, English and Westeren Lessons and Clinics.

Bill Lane Memorial Hitching Rack 2011

WHOA! provided this gift to Portola Valley in memory of Lawrence W. (Bill) Lane (1920-2010) of Portola Valley. Bill was an equestrian extraordinaire – for he continually championed the overriding importance of horses in preserving and maintaining the rural environments still existing on the Peninsula, primarily in Woodside and Portola Valley.

Tack Trunks for Folger Stable 2011

With the enthusiastic approval of the San Mateo County Parks, WHOA! sponsored the design of a custom storage trunk, and donated the first four trunks to the County, to be used by boarders at Folger Stable. The idea and design for the new trunks evolved from suggestions that the renovated stabling deserved storage trunks that reflected the beautiful appointments of the original stable.

Veryl Goodnight Sculpture 2010

"Spring and Sprite" by Veryl Goodnight are perched on a hillside as you enter the town of Woodside. Their presence lets everyone know that Woodside is Horse Country! WHOA! was pleasd to contribute to the purchase of this striking piece.


 

Trails Winterization in Wunderlich County Park

WHOA! donated $5,000 to the winterization of the Bear Gulch and Alambique Trails in Wunderlich County Park and $2500 to the Phase 2 campaign. Fundraising for the project was spearheaded by the Mounted Patrol Foundation and CHAPS.
