The Woodside Day of the Horse was created by two dedicated Woodside horse lovers who wanted a day in celebration of the noble horse. It has become the "Signature Event of Woodside" and is endorsed by the Town of Woodside. Everyone is welcome to attend the FREE horse fair and seasoned riders can register for a Progressive Trail Ride that takes place throughout the Woodside Trail System. 

Every year, the festivities take place on the second Saturday in October which the Town of Woodside has proclaimed as The Day of the Horse (see proclamation).  Whether you ride yourself or just admire our wonderful equine friends there’s plenty to do and see for the whole family!

Holidays with Horses

Woodsiders like to celebrate their holidays with their equine companions.  Some events are sponsored by WHOA! and others by the many local and regional horse organizations that like to get out and do things with their horses. 

Annual Holiday Carriage Drive

Organized by the Peninsula Carriage & Driving Club, this end of the year event features a procession through the town of Woodside of drivers and their carriages and horses. This is another event that gives the public a chance to see that horses still play a vital role in our increasingly frantic society. Traffic stops and smiles light up the faces of children and adults alike as the procession moves through town.
